What is The Mix?

Each month, we offer a free mixer open to all, ranging from traditional networking events to physical activities to workshops. These are hosted at businesses across the Rutland Region and often include a featured speaker

How to Host

If you’re a business leader that is interested in hosting an upcoming RYP Mix, please review our list of expectations below and submit your application. If approved, please have details locked in place 45 days prior to the event.

HOst expectations

Catering: The host is responsible for arranging and covering the cost of a caterer. Hosts should plan for around 50 guests. Please keep in mind that a cash bar is not required, but will certainly have a positive draw in attendance. RYP can assist in recommendations if necessary.

Speaker: Typically the Mix features a guest speaker to talk for 5-10 minutes. This person can be one of the hosts or another person representing your business. This can be optional if you have an activity planned instead.

Special Activity: The Mix is the chance to showcase your business and engage with young professionals in your target audience. We've found that people are most excited about Mixes that include a special activity or things to do in addition to networking. Think of what you can offer or how you can partner with another business to attract more people. Please let us know if you need help with ideas!

Marketing: We aim for the Mix to be mutually beneficial. While we promote these events through our channels, we expect that you will do the same. Please share on your own social media and email newsletters, or consider posting flyers for your employees and clients.

Alternative ways to reach our audience:

  • Propose a Meet-up: A casual meet-up could be the perfect solution if the Mix isn't the right fit for you or your business. Learn more about Meet-ups.

  • Offer an RYP member-only discount or promo: Get the attention of our members by offering something exclusive. RYP can help promote this to our members.

  • Make an announcement at The Mix: At most of our events we allow time for brief open mic announcements. Feel free to share something about your business during this time.
