Since our inception in 2013, Rutland Young Professionals has focused on creating a vibrant Rutland Region by connecting young professionals with other people, jobs, volunteer and mentorship opportunities, and professional development. Around 50 people attend each of our monthly Mixes, and our smaller Meet-Ups welcome around 10 people. We’ve provided networking opportunities to approximately 3,000 young professionals across the Rutland Region and beyond. That’s direct connections to jobs, volunteer opportunities, housing, and our local businesses.
We have hosted more than 75 Mixes and Meet-Ups at more than 40 local businesses since 2013.
Our community includes more than 100 members and friends of RYP, with more than 60 businesses represented in our membership.
We awarded $1,000 in professional development grants to our members in 2020.
Rutland Young Professionals’ programs help emerging leaders connect with one another and with our community. Our programs meet you where you are in your life and career, and support you and your efforts to advance both professionally and personally. As one of the first young professionals groups established in Vermont, we are proud to continue to expand and grow our offerings to meet your needs
Each month, we offer a free mixer open to all, ranging from traditional networking events to physical activities to workshops. These are hosted at businesses throughout the Rutland Region and include a featured speaker and open mic where you can share job openings, housing availability, volunteer opportunities, community events, and more.
The RYP Professional Development Grant Program aims to provide financial assistance to young professionals who enroll in, and successfully complete, career-focused education and professional development programs. The eligible programs can range from broad professional development skills to specific certificate programs to help advance your career.
The Annual Gala is a celebration of our members, supporters, volunteers, and community. We come together for a fun evening of great food and drinks, music and dancing, and more. We honor the Business of the Year and Young Professional of the Year at the Gala each year.
